We are looking for someone committed to the role long term and who is willing to grow with the company.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform quantity take-offs and prepare BOQ’s and purchase orders

  • Obtain and assess supplier / subcontractor quotations

  • Liaising and negotiating with suppliers and sub-contractors to maximise service delivery and achieve business cost savings

  • Project back costing, analysis of projects profitability and monitor necessary changes to increase success rate

  • Assess and prepare accurate estimates and quotations of projects ensuring compliance and organisational procedures

  • Liaise with site supervisors, designers and architects, internal and external stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers

  • Utilise and improve company systems

  • Contract administration

To be successful in this role, you need to have the following:

  • Be highly analytical with an ability to think outside the box

  • A proactive and innovative approach to problem solving

  • The ability to perform all aspects of cost estimating without direct supervision 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within residential projects

  • Strong numerical accuracy and verbal and written communications skills

  • Experience in the use of Excel, Bluebeam and Solo Assist preferable

  • Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering plans with a keen eye for detail

  • Ability to read and interpret contract and specification documents

  • Experience in both sales and production estimating in residential construction is essential

  • Proven knowledge of estimating including identifying cost options and preparing tenders and proposals

  • Proven risk planning, project controls and contractual management skills

  • Trade background highly favourable
